No, I'm not marrying my 100th husband, thank goodness! I only have one of those and I'm keeping him! I'm Jennifer Ashford, the owner of Altar Ego Weddings! I'm excited to share that I will be doing my 100th wedding this year! 100 weddings! That's 100 brides, 100 grooms and HUNDREDS of families, friends, venues and vendors! I've seen a plethora of weddings from small to large, simple to lavish, rustic to glam, all-white decor to color everywhere! I feel so blessed that so many wonderful couples have trusted me and my business with their wedding days! It's something I don't take lightly. I have enjoyed getting to know couples in two awesome Texas markets - Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth! As a tribute to when I started out, I'd like to share a few photos from my very first wedding as a wedding planner in 2007!
Heather and Josh were married on February 28, 2007 at the Dallas World Aquarium. What an amazing place to have a wedding! They hired me for day-of coordination, which means I started about a month out. Heather came to me when the stress of planning her wedding got to be too much. As a brand new wedding planner, I was chomping at the bit to help her! She and I had a great rapport, so she hired me. She had no idea it was my very first wedding to coordinate, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere, right? I dove into her wedding details and spent lots of extra time making sure I knew exactly what was going to happen when, who all the players were and what Heather was most concerned about. Their wedding day arrived. I was sick with a cold, but that didn't matter. I had a client to take care of! I was living the dream! I was as nervous as I've probably ever been, but I helped Heather and Josh's day go flawlessly! They enjoyed their day and didn't have to worry about a thing. They were so grateful to me at the end of the night and couldn't believe it was my very first wedding! I did finally tell them, after all! I will always remember Heather (we're facebook friends!) and the chance she took on me starting out (even if she didn't know it). She allowed me to start my career in wedding planning and now I'm at wedding #100 and counting! I love my clients and am humbled and blessed to serve them! Are you next on my drive to 200?
